Susan E. Brown is a senior account executive for Avery Hall Benefit Solutions at our Salisbury office. She joined the Avery Hall team in 1996 as an account manager and earned a promotion to her current position in 2005. She is a licensed property & casualty and life & health insurance broker.  Susan specializes in selling group benefits and works with businesses to develop and maintain their employee benefits.

Professionally, Susan has received the Golden Eagle Award from the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) for outstanding sales achievement many times!

She loves volunteering, both with Avery Hall and personally, in her community. Susan is an active member of our American Cancer Society Relay for Life team and is a Junior Achievement program presenter at Wicomico County elementary schools. Personally, she volunteers for numerous organizations including the Wicomico County Farm & Home Show, Zion UMC, God’s Kitchen, Salisbury Elks & Women’s Auxiliary.  Most recently, Susan was appointed to the Delmarva Poultry Industry Governance Committee which guides & manages the process to ensure an active sustainable board of directors for DPI.   Also, as a Humane Society supporter, Susan advocates controlling pet populations, and has rescued, and arranged for the spaying or neutering of many cats and dogs.

In her free time, Susan enjoys gardening, cooking, girlfriend gatherings, and family time. She and her husband, Vic, have a grown daughter who is an elementary school teacher. They love weekly visits with their granddaughter, who occupies a large piece of their hearts. Each summer, she looks forward to bountiful Eastern Shore living filled with locally grown fruits and vegetables and saltwater retreats, and each fall, she looks forward to cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers and creating large pots of homemade soup.

Susan’s favorite quote is, “Live and learn from fools and from sages”. Her high school class song was Dream On and has always found these lyrics to be true in her life.
