Mary Mengason is the vice president of Benefit Solutions and is based out of the Salisbury office. She joined Avery Hall in 1995 as an account executive and was later promoted to her current position in 2005. Her specialty is working with group benefit plans for customers of all sizes such as families, businesses, and large companies.
Mary is a past recipient of the Person of the Year award from the Eastern Shore Association of Health Underwriters as well as a five-time recipient of the Golden Eagle award for the Leading Producers Round Table, which is the highest award given from the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU). Additionally, she served as the president of the Eastern Shore Association of Health Underwriters for two years and as the membership chair of the Maryland Association of Health Underwriters for three years.
Mary is also very involved in non-profit work where she is a board member of the United Way of Lower Eastern Shore and a committee member for their annual Holiday Ball. Additionally, she is on the Peninsula Regional Foundation Board where she works on their Foundation Gala and Women’s Heart Health Luncheon committees. She is a past board member of the March of Dimes.
Prior to Avery Hall, Mary worked for other insurance companies.
Mary was born and raised in Baltimore, MD and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science as well as a minor in history from the University of Delaware.
Mary has two teenage boys that make her very proud. She also treasures spending time with their family dog, Miller. She loves to volunteer for Appalachia Service Project (ASP) with her two sons where they travel to Appalachia for a week each year and help repair houses. It is a very rewarding week for her and the best form of therapy she has found. Throughout the year, they volunteer at local homeless shelters and build wheelchair ramps with their ASP group. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, and being near the water when the weather is warm. Mary also loves the ballet and still dreams of being a ballerina.
