Jill Long is the chief financial officer and is based out of the Salisbury office. She has been with Avery Hall since 1998. Her focus is managing and overseeing all financial-related matters and human resources for the agency as well as being an integral part in planning the strategic direction of the agency.
Jill has earned the designations of Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), which she received from the HR Certification Institute and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), respectively. She currently serves as the board treasurer for Eastern Shore SHRM. Additionally, she is a committee member for Wicomico County Relay for Life and a volunteer teacher for Junior Achievement (JA) of the Eastern Shore. She has previously served as the Wicomico County Daffodil Program Chairperson for American Cancer Society as well as a board member for the Wicomico County Library, a community impact committee member for the United Way of the Lower Shore, and as a volunteer at multiple walk events hosted by the March of Dimes.
Prior to Avery Hall, Jill worked in accounting and human resources for a manufacturing company in Seaford, DE.
Jill was born and raised in Greenwood, DE and received both her bachelor’s degree in accounting and her Master of Business Administration at Salisbury University.
Personally, she has volunteered for Vacation Bible School (VBS) at Sailor’s Bethel UMC and currently volunteers for VBS and the nursery at Crossroad’s Community Church. Jill is also the board treasurer for Bethel Historical Society and a classroom volunteer at Salisbury Christian School. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, reading, crafts, baking, and spending time with family and friends.
