Maureen Cody is Vice President of New Account Executive Development in our Salisbury office. She joined Avery Hall in 2009 as an account manager before being promoted to account executive in 2013. She was promoted to her current position in 2023.
As Vice President of New Account Executive Development, Maureen specializes in working with business owners to determine the insurance necessary to protect the business and its assets. She also works with our newer account executives to teach them how to better serve our clients using her many years of experience. Professionally, Maureen has earned her designations as an Accredited Adviser in Insurance (AAI) and Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR). She has more than 30 years of experience working in the insurance industry!
Maureen is very involved in her community. She volunteers at the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, Snow Hill Area Chamber of Commerce, and Eastern Shore of Virginia Chamber of Commerce. She is active in United Way of Virginia’s Eastern Shore, Women’s United, Delmarva Poultry Industry, One Year to Empowerment, Relay for Life, Soroptimist International of Salisbury, and the Delmarva Condo Association.
In her free time, Maureen enjoys long walks, bike rides, gardening, and spending time on the playground with her grandchildren. She and her husband, Steve, have been married for over 36 years, and together they have two grown daughters and five grandchildren. One of her favorite vacations they have taken together was to Shenandoah Valley.
Maureen’s favorite saying is a simple “please” and “thank you!” She believes it is vital for us to remember to ask politely and not assume it is ok to make a request and always be grateful for everything, even the little things.
